Well something for hardcore gamers to think about

What makes this impressive is the fact that they're all released in order (well, mostly at least)-

FF6/ALttP- Mostly considered by the hardcore fans that were with the series from the beginning to be the best, the last 2D game in the series, has a lot of fans. Both ported to GBA.

FF7/OoT- The most critically acclaimed, has the biggest following, the best games on their respective systems. The popularity of these games is unmatched, first 3D game in the series.

FF8/MM- Takes a turn and tries something different, considered one of the worst in the series by general consensus, but fans of the game typically think it's amazing, if not the best one.

FF9/WW- Goes for a different look. Ends up being a good game but doesn't walk away with too many fans. One of the least popular in the series

FFX-2/Four Swords- Err.... no explanation needed.

FF12/TP- Brought the series back with a bang, both highly rated, allowed their respective systems to die with grace. Considered amazing games, if not the best in the series, but can't match the classic status of OoT and FF7 because they're so new

simply wow
